“The Ideas Group brings a rare combination of high-level business strategy and creative vision to every project we develop together. We feel that The Ideas Group team is an extension of our team -- they understand our needs and deliver the strategic and creative solutions we need to be successful.”
Janet Greene – Senior MarCom Manager, Simplex Solutions

“As a marketing consultant, I am genuinely pleased when I can bring The Ideas Group to a client. I know they are going to get fresh, powerful, and strategic recommendations along with timely and well executed implementation.”
Janet Beach - Managing Partner, U.S. Marketing Services

Simplex came to The Ideas Group with very clearly defined objectives: to create a new brand identity for the company, help prepare for Simplex’s imminent IPO, and develop the identity and launch of a new technology that fundamentally changes the future of the semiconductor industry.

We rolled up our sleeves. The Ideas Group partnered with Janet Beach, Strategic Consultant, and MCA Public Relations to develop the key messaging, positioning, and launch plan for the newly named technology – the X Architecture, a radical new chip design methodology that enables significant improvements in chip speed, power and size.

Then The Ideas Group created and delivered all tactical elements, from identity development to event management.

The new brand elements – including logos, stationery system, style guide, corporate brochure, and websites - position Simplex as a pervasive innovator and power-player in the semiconductor industry.

The launch event for the X Architecture and the newly created X Initiative consortium was an overwhelming success, garnering coverage from all major media outlets including CBS MarketWatch, CNBC, Bloomberg News/TV, CNN Online, Asia Links, and every targeted technology and semiconductor industry publication.

The X Initiative has now grown from the 9 charter companies to over 30 members, including Dai Nippon Printing, DuPont Photomasks, Etec Systems (an Applied Materials company), KLA-Tencor, Matsushita, Numerical Technologies, Sanyo, Sony, STMicroelectronics, Tensilica, and Simplex’s development partner, Toshiba.

And Simplex’s IPO was a resounding success, tripling in price in the first 30 days – and is listed as one of the top 10 IPOs for year 2001. Simplex’s sales revenue for Fiscal 2001 was up more than 110%.

The face of silicon is definitely changing, and Simplex is clearly leading the way.
